About A Tithe in Blood
In this haunting visual novel, the intertwining themes of grief and forbidden power create a deeply emotional experience. Set against the backdrop of snow-covered Hokkaido, players follow Honoka Asakawa, a university student grappling with personal loss, who stumbles upon ancient blood magic that opens a portal to a trapped Meiji-era Sapporo. As Honoka's connection grow with the enigmatic Lady Yasue, a captivating figure confined for a century, the stakes rise dramatically, blending romance with a sense of dread.
The gameplay revolves around engaging with rich dialogue and narrative, allowing players to immerse themselves in Honoka’s introspections and evolving relationships. Featuring a script of around 70,000 words, this game offers a somber atmosphere accentuated by Japanese voice acting and an original soundtrack. Unlike typical school romance titles, it approaches magic with complexity, exploring its darker implications. If you’re a fan of character-driven narratives like The House in Fata Morgana, this one’s definitely worth checking out.
